Prior to 1970, the problem with corn was that it suddenly lost its taste shortly after harvesting. Against this backdrop, we released "Honey Bantam®". This corn, which retained its sweetness for a longer period after harvesting than previous varieties, became instantly popular. Later, in 1985, we released "Peter Corn", a bi-colored corn with a mix of yellow and white kernels. At a glance it was distinguishable from other corns and was even sweeter than Honey Bantam®. Moreover, its soft seed coating did not linger in the mouth. Within mere three years after its release, "Peter Corn" dominated the market.
